Christmas Newsletter 2017

Another year has flown by and I'm freaking out a little about how time seems to be speeding up. I'm so grateful for the holiday season and the opportunity it gives me to take in the moments. Even though it is a time busy with making Christmas, I find myself making more deliberate efforts to soak in the music, the lights, the aromas, and most importantly the time together as a family.
Speaking of family, here is the run down.

Lincoln is still working at Lands End. He enjoys his short commute and the opportunity to live here in our small town. He is serving as first counselor in the branch presidency. Our Dodgeville branch is still young (it was formed about a year and a half ago) and we are meeting in the local Masonic lodge.
Molly has spent a good part of the past year working at Deco Supply, a local paint and sundries store. She recently pulled back from that to focus attention on home improvement projects and household management. She is serving as the Young Women's president at church. Despite being a tiny branch there are about 8 girls in the youth program.
This was a big year for Kennedy as she graduated high school in May. She worked over the summer at the Lands End warehouse, saving money for college. In September she started her freshman year of college at BYU Idaho. Semester one went well and was a great transition into adulting.
Julia, 16, is a junior in high school. She has had an eventful fall. In November she gave a great performance in the school's musical production of The Leader of the Pack. This was her acting debut and she surprised a lot of people that had no idea she could sing! She also performed on the high school dance team. And now she recently got her license.
Devon is 13 and is in the 8th grade. He played football again this year and it really seemed to click for him this year. He continues to play his clarinet in the school band loves to cheer on the Seahawks.
Irene is 12 and is in 7th grade. She decided at the end of sixth grade that she wanted to join band and now plays percussion. She also sings in the choir and even had a solo at the winter concert this week. This fall she also played volleyball on the school team and loved it! She really developed a great serve.
Jesse is 10. He is in his last year of elementary school. He continues learning violin and even practiced after school today. This fall he played tackle football for the first time. He really enjoyed playing and tried really hard to make his big brother proud of him. He loves to play Stars Wars Battlefront on the PS4 and we often have to endure lengthy descriptions of battles.

And that
